Role:
product manager/design principal
Version:
WaveUP V2 - 2.5.0
Amidst the rapid expansion of WaveUP's business landscape and the restructuring of our upstream underlying architecture, the CEO greenlit a massive product strategy pivot right before a critical milestone. At this juncture, although I no longer held the title of Product Manager, I remained the ultimate guarantor for the entire platform's user experience. Coincidentally, Apple had just unveiled its new "Liquid Glass" design language. We instantly aligned, deciding to seize this opportunity to overhaul the omni-channel visual identity and ruthlessly declutter—directly stripping away legacy modules like redundant market data lists.
This was an exceptionally grueling battle. The overall project timeline was compressed to a mere month, leaving me a brief 10-day window to define the entire visual architecture and paradigm. Under extreme time constraints, I had to completely redefine the app's comprehensive revamp, streamline the visual interaction logic to ensure frictionless development, and flawlessly integrate the nascent Liquid Glass aesthetics into our business scenarios. Faced with this almost irresistible ultimate challenge, a "bloodline awakening" typical of a seasoned professional drove me to take forceful command. Briefly stepping into the product management domain, I swiftly locked down the new version's core visual tone, component library, and underlying design specifications.
On the execution front, I deployed a systematized resource allocation strategy: precisely demarcating "deep-dive reconstruction zones" from "lightweight reuse zones," focusing on the macro while delegating the micro. I modularized the tasks, assigning them fairly and accurately to every member of the design team. This highly efficient top-level visual planning yielded astonishing execution power. Within the stringent deadline, we not only flawlessly executed the comprehensive visual overhaul of the core App but also exceeded expectations by completing the visual architecture for all peripheral H5 promotional landing pages and media operation matrices.
In this campaign, what I valued most was not my personal ability to orchestrate and anchor the project under a state of emergency. Rather, it was that through precise architectural deconstruction and rational human resource management, I achieved "zero excessive overtime" for the team within this extreme timeline. Enabling a professional team to win a tough battle under a healthy, sustainable rhythm is my proudest achievement as a design leader.
Upon release, the new App not only massively catalyzed the subsequent sales of our ecosystem collectibles and garnered unprecedented market validation, but it also sent a powerful signal to the entire market and our core users: our team possesses top-tier iterative vitality and remains relentlessly committed to the long-term cultivation of the ecosystem.
